When this movie first came out, I was quite into movie soundtracks & loved John Williams' work, thinking it would someday be as respected as the classical composers of centuries past, like Beethoven. I got the soundtrack on cassette & wore it out, so then I replaced it with an LP. Short Round is my favorite Indiana Jones universe character, so I love Short Round's Theme. "Slave Children's Crusade" (which is retitled "Parade of the Slave Children" on a John William compilation set) is so exotic & beautiful that it caused an almost painful wistfulness in me & made me yearn for adventures in foreign lands. Willie's version of the old standard "Anything Goes" in a Chinese language is something I've exercised to for years, literally kicking up my heels when I was younger & more physically capable. When they started coming out with expanded Lucasfilm soundtracks CDs, I looked for Temple of Doom but all I saw was a CD with the same tracks as my LP. I was glad to find this 2 LP set with an expanded track list.
